Sandy Beach

Yesterday we took a family trip to a remote beach in the middle of the mountains about 30 minutes away. It was beautiful!! We swam, played on the beach and grilled out for dinner. Somewhere we will definitely be visiting again :)

Idaho State Fair

 You can't go to the fair without getting an elephant ear to eat! The boys all loved it!

Gotta let boys be boys...

I took the boys around the back of our townhouse to ride bikes and play with their cars and whatnot. Well, it ended up being a game of who could get the most mud of them while trying to find worms. What are you to do, gotta let boys be boys and just get a nice hot bath going for when they come in (which was not for 2 hours!).

 This stick that Blake is playing with is twice as tall as he is and would not let me take it from him without kicking and screaming!

 Finding worms! I think they ended up with a total of 20, not bad!

Festival at the Park

Today we took the kids to a festival with the church we have been attending here in Boise. They had bounce houses, cotton candy, snow cones, games and lots of good food and music. Needless to say, they had a ton of fun and enough sugar to last them an entire week!

Settlers Park

Jim took the older boys to Settlers Park yesterday and little did he know, it was a water park too. Anyone who knows my kids well, know that if there is water, they are in it no matter what they are wearing!:) 

Boise Zoo

 Off to the zoo we go.....

 Some of the highlights were:

1. All of the dinosaurs around the zoo that moved and made noises. Totally scared them the first time they ran into one and of course asked if it was real :)

2. The lions, which came right up to the glass. I was even a little uncomfortable at how close they were!

3. The jellyfish in color changing water so you could see them really well.

4. The giraffes and the zebras.

5. Ethan's favorite - The giraffe slide in which you slid down the neck!

6. Blake's favorite -Tunnels that you could climb through to a peep hole to see the prairie dogs 

7. Caleb's favorite - The komodo dragon and the 255 year old tortoise!  

8. The Carousal - it was something special that we did at the end and even Blake enjoyed it.

We had a great morning and will definitely be returning!

A walk to the park...

 There is a park in our neighborhood that we checked out yesterday. It doesn't have much being that many people living in our neighborhood do not have children and are of retirement age, but they sure had fun and it is nice to have a place to play within walking distance!

VBS

Ethan and Caleb went to a VBS by our new place last week. At the end of the week, they put on a performance, singing some of the music they have been learning throughout the week. One of our boys loves to sing and dance and the other, well he is less than enthusiastic about it. They both had a great time and enjoyed meeting some more kids their age!
